About the Wheeling Turkey Trot

The Wheeling Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning on the campus of a local university, with a children's fun run and a road race sharing the same start area. The course serves runners and walkers alike, and the surroundings are a university campus setting rather than open roads or trails.

Packet pickup is available at the Parks and Recreation office on the two days before the race, which most people find easier than race-morning pickup. On race day, registration and pickup open at the McDonough Center before the start. After finishing, snacks and refreshments are set up inside the McDonough Center, and an awards ceremony follows shortly after.
