About the Wetumpka Turkey Trot
The course starts at the Sports Complex, loops around it, and crosses a walking bridge before heading out toward the Farmers Market. It is an out-and-back, so the return leg is familiar ground. The surroundings feel like a small city showing itself off, with a bit of downtown Wetumpka visible on the way out.
The finish brings you back to the Sports Complex where the race began. Afterward, the organizers encourage sticking around to visit downtown merchants, so there is a natural reason to linger before heading home to cook.
