About the West Side Catholic Center Pancake Run

The Pancake Run starts and finishes at the West Side Catholic Center on Lorain Ave, a neighborhood anchor on Cleveland's west side. The course offers both a short and a longer distance, keeping things accessible for runners and walkers of different abilities. Age group awards go deep across the field, so there is real racing happening at the front and through the middle.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the same Lorain Ave location, with race-morning pickup available before the start. After you finish, there is a pancake breakfast waiting, which is the draw for a lot of people who come back year after year. The race benefits the West Side Catholic Center's programs serving the surrounding community.

Common Questions About the West Side Catholic Center Pancake Run

Will I finish last at the West Side Catholic Center Pancake Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:28, and the last recorded finisher came in around 59:38, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the West Side Catholic Center Pancake Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 264 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the West Side Catholic Center Pancake Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:30 while the median finisher took 30:28. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
