About the Welcome Walk 2026
The course runs on an indoor track at UPenn, so the surface is even and the laps are sheltered. This is a walk-friendly event organized to support LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers, and running is welcome too. The pace is set by the participants, and people can join the moving group on the trail even if they arrive a little late.
Check-in happens at a tent near the Boathouse Pavilion, where supply donations can also be dropped off. Parking is spread through FDR Park, with the closest lots sitting just north of the pavilion. Volunteers are stationed around the area to help with directions.
