About This Club

Philadelphia Runner Track Club is a competitive, membership-based club founded in 2000 for post-collegiate and performance-oriented runners. They describe themselves as built around structured training, with over 200 members competing in track, road, cross country, and trail events. If you are chasing a Boston qualifier, a track PR, or just want to train consistently with people who are serious about their times, this is built for that.

Who It Suits

This club is a strong fit for competitive post-collegiate runners who want coached, structured training and a community that races seriously. If you are new to running, returning from a long break, or not yet running at a Boston-qualifier level, this is not the right starting point, and they would tell you the same.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Tuesdays are track workouts at Franklin Field, typically totaling 7 to 11 miles. Sundays are long runs out of Lloyd Hall at Boathouse Row, typically 10 to 16 miles along the Schuylkill River Trail, MLK Drive, and Fairmount Park. Groups split on Sundays depending on distance and pace, so you are not locked into one route. Tuesday starts at 6:30pm; Sunday starts at 9am, with earlier summer hours.

Your First Run

You cannot just show up and join this one. Membership requires an application, and they look for athletes who at least meet their Developing Athlete time standards, with specific benchmarks like sub-4:20 for men and sub-5:10 for women and non-binary athletes referenced for certain program entries.

Enrollment opens twice a year, in January and in June, so check where you are in the calendar before you reach out. Sunday long runs are open to prospective members, which is a real way to get a feel for the group and the routes before you commit.
