About the Waves of Hope 5K
The race runs along the Hollywood Beach area and starts at Charnow Park, putting you right in the coastal atmosphere from the jump. The course is chip-timed and draws a crowd that turns out in pink and teal to support people affected by breast and gynecological cancers. The race is organized by BRCAStrong, a nonprofit built around that community.
All packet pickup happens race morning at the park, so there is no need to go anywhere the day before. Parking is paid at a nearby garage on Garfield Street, and there are no reserved event spaces, so arriving early helps. An awards ceremony wraps things up shortly after the last finishers come through.
