The course runs on an actual airport runway at North Perry Airport, which makes for a pretty unusual morning. It is flat, wide open, and exposed, with no shade from trees or buildings, just pavement and sky in every direction. The surface is smooth and the sight lines are long, so you can see the whole field ahead of you.
