About the Warm Up Columbus

The course is a one-mile loop run repeatedly on flat road, which means spectators can watch from a single spot and see runners come through again and again. Pace teams are out there, covering a wide range of speeds including a walking group, so you are rarely alone on the road. The surroundings are suburban Dublin, and the loop keeps the atmosphere concentrated.

Packet pickup runs at a Fleet Feet location earlier in race week, with race-morning pickup inside a hotel at the start area. Traffic into the parking lots backs up early, so arriving well before the gun matters. The race director is direct about this: late arrivals should not expect a delayed start.

Common Questions About the Warm Up Columbus

Will I finish last at the Warm Up Columbus?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:03:49, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:52:07, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Warm Up Columbus a good first 13.1 Miles?

It is a small race (142 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Warm Up Columbus?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:16:36 while the median finisher took 2:03:49. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
