About the Because You Can 5K
This Halloween fun run in Dublin is held in memory of a runner and Halloween enthusiast who died of breast cancer. Costumes are encouraged, and the atmosphere reflects that, with families and people of all paces showing up dressed for the occasion. The entry fees go directly to a fund that helps Central Ohio families dealing with cancer cover housing, food, and medical costs.
The race was created to support Kateswell and its Leslie Ungerott Fund, so the cause is woven into the morning rather than tacked on. Sponsors cover production costs, meaning registration money flows straight to families in need. It reads less like a charity add-on and more like the whole point.
