About the Waco Run Tour - Battle of the Badges
The Battle of the Badges is built around a friendly rivalry between the city's firefighters and its police officers. When you register, you pick a side, and that loose team spirit carries through the morning. The race starts at a fire station in Waco, which gives the whole event a grounded, working-city feel rather than a park-and-tent setup.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the same fire station where the race begins, so the location is easy to find ahead of time. Proceeds go to a local first-responder support organization, which ties back to the firefighter-versus-officer premise the whole morning is built around.

The Waco Run Tour - Battle of the Badges has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
