About the ViVa Sole to Soul Scholarship Benefit 5K Run/Walk
The race runs through Edinburg Municipal Park and benefits a scholarship fund that supports local students and programs preserving Black history in the Rio Grande Valley. The organizing group, Village In The Valley, is a nonprofit focused on culture and community in the area. Participation is welcome at any pace.
The event draws vendors and live music alongside the race, so the park has activity well beyond the finish line. Proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund, and there is also a virtual participation option for those who want to support the cause from a distance.
