About the Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk

The race starts and finishes in the parking lot of Uwharrie Brewing, a local brewery that anchors the whole event. The streets around the brewery make up the route. Both a timed 5K and a shorter untimed run/walk are on offer, so the field tends to mix people out for a hard effort with people just out for a morning stroll.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the brewery, with race-morning pickup available as well. After you finish, shaved ice, face painting, and fire safety demonstrations from the local fire department are set up near the finish area. Runners of legal drinking age can grab a beer from the brewery; everyone else gets soft drinks, coffee, or lemonade.
