About the UToledo Health DCC Annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K and Fun Run
Both distances run through the health science campus, so the surroundings are medical buildings and open campus grounds rather than a park or trail. The course is open to walkers and runners alike, and the cause is front and center: the race benefits patient care and support services at the cancer center that hosts it. Pink gear is encouraged.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the cancer center, with a race-morning window as well. Before the gun goes off, there is a breast cancer screening information area and a community resource table set up near the start.
