The course runs through Swan Creek Metropark, on the southwest edge of Toledo. The park has mature tree cover and trail sections that feel removed from the city, and in late autumn that means bare branches and quiet. The race honors people who have died and raises money for a local organization that provides grief support to children, teens, and their families, so the mood on course reflects that purpose.
