About the Upstander 5K
The course circles Union Terminal, the art deco train station that now houses the Cincinnati Museum Center. The route is mostly flat and stays close to the building, so the architecture is in view for much of the run. It reads more like a neighborhood loop than a point-to-point, and the surroundings are open enough that the building anchors the whole thing.
Outside the terminal after the race, there is live music and a pickleball tournament going on, so the finish area has some activity beyond the usual post-race milling around. Race registration also covers museum admission that day, which gives you somewhere to go once you have cooled down.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Upstander 5K has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
