About the Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati

The course runs through downtown Cincinnati, so there is city scenery the whole way. It is open to all paces, and the route is described as picture-perfect, which in a downtown setting usually means wide streets and plenty of crowd. The race benefits Girls on the Run, so there is a cause behind the entry fee.

Packet pickup happens race morning at the venue, and you can also have your packet mailed ahead of time if you opt in during registration. At the finish, apple cider is waiting, and there is a separate area where you pick up a small pumpkin using a tear-off ticket on your bib.

Common Questions About the Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati

Will I finish last at the Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 51:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:20:50, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati a good first 5K?

With 1,540 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Cincinnati?

The 5K winner ran 19:51 while the median finisher took 51:55. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
