About the UP AND RUNNING Jingle Bell 5K Run/walk

The race starts and finishes at a local running store on N. Mesa, making the whole morning self-contained. The course is a standard road route out and back from the shop, and the surrounding area is a busy commercial stretch of El Paso, so there is plenty of context on either side of you as you run.

Packet pickup runs across two evenings at the store before race day, and the organizers are clear that there is no race-morning pickup option, so plan ahead. Tamales and hot chocolate are waiting at the finish. Proceeds go to a cross country fund named for a local coach.

Common Questions About the UP AND RUNNING Jingle Bell 5K Run/walk

Will I finish last at the UP AND RUNNING Jingle Bell 5K Run/walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:47, and the last recorded finisher came in around 55:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the UP AND RUNNING Jingle Bell 5K Run/walk a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 645 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the UP AND RUNNING Jingle Bell 5K Run/walk?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 15:59 while the median finisher took 31:47. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
