About the Charger Pump & Run 5k

This one has a twist: before you run, you can hit the bench press. Each successful rep shaves a few seconds off your finish time, and you keep going until you miss or rerack. It is a certified course on the university campus, so the route is measured and marked properly.

Race-morning registration and packet pickup both happen at the campus fitness center, where the bench press station is set up. Snacks, water, and refreshments are out there at the start, so you are not scrambling before the gun.
