About the Turkey Shuffle - Waco
The race takes place at Indian Springs Park, winding through local parks and greenbelts that show off fall color well. The course offers several distance options, from a short run to a longer one, so people tend to show up with very different goals. A kids sprint runs alongside the main distances, which brings out a lot of families.
A DJ keeps things moving at the start and finish area, and a costume contest with a Thanksgiving theme gives the post-race gathering some extra energy. There are snacks and refreshments at the finish tent, and awards are handed out in person with all winners called up.
