About the Tucson 5000

The course is USATF certified and about as flat as pavement gets, which is why it draws runners chasing a personal best. A certified flat course in Tucson is a genuine asset on race morning, and the route reflects that priority: no surprises, no climbs, just a clean shot at a fast time.

A separate out-and-back kids mile runs alongside the main event, and the format means spectators can see young runners heading out and coming back, so there is actual cheering built into the shape of the course rather than just at the finish.
