About the 13th Annual Trick-or-Trot

This is a costume race, so a good chunk of the field shows up dressed. There is a costume contest with several categories, and prizes go to winners. Dogs on leash and strollers are welcome, though both are asked to start toward the back. The race benefits local charitable organizations in Brecksville.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store on Brecksville Road. There is also race-morning pickup for those who cannot make the early option. Post-race, there is food and drinks at the finish, plus an awards ceremony and children's activities shortly after the race wraps.

Common Questions About the 13th Annual Trick-or-Trot

Will I finish last at the 13th Annual Trick-or-Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:19, and the last recorded finisher came in around 43:08, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 13th Annual Trick-or-Trot a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (157 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 13th Annual Trick-or-Trot?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:45 while the median finisher took 30:19. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
