This is a holiday morning road race on a wheel-measured course that the organizers describe as flat and fast. It runs rain or shine, so the weather is not a factor. Proceeds go to several local causes, including organizations focused on feeding and sheltering people in need, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the running.
