About the Tim Kerr 7 Mile Island Run and TK5K Run/Walk

The longer route covers the island end to end, so you get a real sense of the geography of Avalon rather than a loop through one neighborhood. The shorter option follows a similar out-and-back shape along the coast. Both courses are flat, with open sky and salt air for most of the run. Strollers are welcome on the shorter course.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Community Hall, with race-morning pickup available as well. Awards go out mid-morning, organized by age group, so you do not have to wait long after finishing.

Common Questions About the Tim Kerr 7 Mile Island Run and TK5K Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Tim Kerr 7 Mile Island Run and TK5K Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.11 Miles field finished slower than 31:21, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:22, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Tim Kerr 7 Mile Island Run and TK5K Run/Walk a good first 3.11 Miles?

A field of 548 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.11 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Tim Kerr 7 Mile Island Run and TK5K Run/Walk?

The 3.11 Miles winner ran 17:14 while the median finisher took 31:21. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
