About the Three Brothers Spiked Apple 5k
The course runs through a vineyard and orchard on the grounds of a winery estate, covering the route in a couple of loops. The footing is uneven in places, cross-country style, so trail shoes or something with grip are worth considering. It is a scenic stretch of agricultural land, and the surroundings feel more like a farm walk than a road race.
Packet pickup the day before is at a nearby airplane hangar, and anyone who comes early can get a tasting flight from the winery while they are there. Race-morning pickup is available as well, but the lines tend to build. After the race, there are cider donuts and a pour of cider at the finish.
