The Swissvale Mile runs through the neighborhood it is named for, with a timed one-mile race alongside a dog-friendly walk option. The event is entirely volunteer-run, and the proceeds go back into the community through local organizations, school programs, and neighborhood celebrations. It draws people who live nearby as much as it draws people who race.
