About the 8th Annual Healthy Kappa 5K Run/Walk/Ride
This Pittsburgh race welcomes runners, walkers, and cyclists together on the same course, which makes the field feel more varied than most morning 5Ks. The event is tied to a scholarship fund supporting minority college-bound students from the region, so there is a genuine purpose behind it beyond the finish line.
Right after the race, a health symposium runs at a nearby co-working space in the Southside Works area, where local practitioners offer short talks on diet, exercise, and wellness. It is open to everyone who participated, and the organizers frame it as informal, so you do not need any background to follow along.
