About the Official Las Cruces Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
The course starts and finishes inside a track at the Field of Dreams complex, with the longer route heading out onto wide streets before picking up trail along a drainage channel on the edge of the city. The whole thing stays paved and essentially flat, so legs feel fresh even on a holiday morning. It runs Thanksgiving morning, which gives the gathering a particular kind of energy.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at the WIA building on Reymond, with vendors and sponsors set up alongside. Parking is off Tashiro Drive on the west side of the complex. The donation drive for El Caldito runs race morning, so worth bringing something along. There is pumpkin pie at the finish.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Official Las Cruces Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot has been held every year since at least 2018. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
