About the ICE AGE 5K RUN, WALK or STROLL!
The course runs out and back along a paved hike and bike trail starting from Hewlett Park, so the route is smooth underfoot the whole way. It passes through the historic downtown area, and the surroundings are what you would expect from an old Texas square town: storefronts, open sky, flat ground. Timed and untimed options are both available, so people run it at whatever pace suits them.
After the race, the day continues over at City Beach Park, where the bigger spectacle is a cold-water plunge into Lake Granbury. Packet pickup happens the morning of the event at the start area, so there is no need to come out the day before.
