About the Guardian Mile
The race crosses the Hope Memorial Bridge from west to east, closed to traffic for the evening. The first stretch is flat, then the bridge climbs before dropping for a long descent toward the finish, where the road levels off just before the line. The bridge surface is in good shape, though the pavement just before the start is a little uneven.
Packet pickup happens at running stores in the days before the race, and there is also a pickup window outside a taproom near the start on race day. After the community heats, the elite fields run separately, and spectators can watch and meet them at the finish. The post-race party is at Market Garden Brewpub nearby.
