About the 40th Annual Great Turkey 5K Run & Gobbler Walk
This Thanksgiving-morning race in Bowling Green is the main fundraiser for the local running club's effort to support high school track and cross country teams across several surrounding counties, helping them cover uniforms and equipment. The run and the walk have separate start locations, so there is a little more logistics than a typical small-town holiday race.
Packet pickup runs the evening before, and the organizers strongly suggest using it. The morning-of option exists, but lines get long before a gun start. Only registered participants are allowed on the course, so plan accordingly if you are bringing spectators who want to walk alongside.
