About the bg26.2 & half marathon and bg6000
The course starts and finishes at a minor-league ballpark and winds through historic downtown streets and across a university campus. It is an open course, meaning traffic keeps moving on most of it, with coned lanes on a handful of streets. The route is a loop run twice for the full distance, so half marathoners and marathoners share the same roads. Post-race massages and stretching are available at the finish.
The evening before the race, the ballpark hosts packet pickup alongside a pasta dinner that is free for registered participants. Race-morning pickup opens early at the ballpark concession window, with a firm cutoff before the start. No strollers or dogs are permitted on the course, and the organizers ask runners using headphones to keep one ear free given the open-road conditions.
