About the Fanciest 5K. Ever.

The course starts in a gym parking lot in West Salem, crosses a railroad bridge over the river, loops through a riverfront park, and comes back the same way. The whole thing is paved and pretty flat. The real spectacle is the field: people run it in formal wear, prom dresses, tuxedos, top hats, tiaras. It raises money for a local organization that supports sex-trafficking survivors.

Registration and bib pickup happen inside the gym before the start. Afterward, the party moves back inside with a photo booth, snacks, and an awards ceremony covering top finishers, top fundraisers, and the fanciest outfits. The virtual option lets people run the distance from anywhere and submit a photo and time within a set window.
