About the Big Lebowski Dude Dash 5K & 10K
The course follows the Los Angeles River out and back on a flat path through the Valley, starting near a high school in Canoga Park. It is a fast route with no real obstacles underfoot, and the movie-themed setup along the way gives it a costume-party feel. Plenty of runners show up dressed for the occasion.
Costumes are genuinely encouraged here, and the atmosphere leans into the film theme hard, with music and movie-inspired imagery at the course. The race is a fan-made parody event, not an official studio production, which seems to free everyone up to have a good time with it.
