About the Beyond The Streets 5k, 10k & Half Marathon
The course follows the upper reach of the Los Angeles River, near the high school that anchors the neighborhood. It is an urban route with real texture to it, quiet stretches, unexpected green patches, and the particular rhythm of a river corridor that most people drive past without ever setting foot on.
Entry is free, by design. The organizers cover the costs and ask runners to donate what they can to North Valley Caring Services, a local nonprofit doing direct work around homelessness, food insecurity, and family crisis. Donations are optional at registration, but the cause is specific and the connection to the course is hard to miss.
