About the Berkeley Circuit
Berkeley Park is a flat loop around a lake, with a retired amusement park sitting just beside it. The path is hard-packed and narrow enough that runners stay bunched early, but the surface is fast and the course is short enough to race all-out. Quarter-mile markers break it up if you want to pace yourself, though most people here are chasing something.
Packet pickup is the afternoon before at a local running store, with race-morning check-in available as a backup. Post-race, the whole field moves to a nearby taproom where there is a free beer pour and the award presentations happen. Top finishers in open, masters, and youth categories all take home prizes, and team competition adds another layer for groups.
