About the Tacoma City Marathon / Half / Ghost / 10K / 5K / 1K
The point-to-point courses cross the Narrows Bridge before threading through Point Defiance Park, with its old-growth forest and gardens. After the park, the route drops toward the water on a long downhill, then follows the shoreline with views of Mount Rainier. The marathon continues along the Thea Foss Waterway, turning near the Museum of Glass.
The weekend splits into two race days, with shorter distances and the Ghost of Tacoma on one morning, and the marathon and half marathon the next. Both longer courses finish at Dune Peninsula Park on Commencement Bay, in a waterfront neighborhood with food and recreation nearby.
