About the 16th Annual Superhero 5K and Fun Run

The course runs out and back along Nathan Benderson Park, starting and finishing on a small island beside the rowing finish tower. The surroundings are open water and park, which keeps the route flat and uncluttered. Runners are encouraged to show up in costume, and there are trophy categories for the best superhero outfits, including one for pets.

Packet pickup happens the two evenings before the race at a New Balance store nearby, with race-morning pickup also available at the start area. Parking is on the island near the finish tower. After the race there is music, a kids' activity zone, and food, along with an awards ceremony that draws out the post-race crowd.
