Sunrise Series!

El Paso, TX

Opens Feb 13, 2027Annual since at least 2025

About the Sunrise Series!

The Sunrise Series moves through El Paso event by event, each one set at a different location across the city. The distance stays the same throughout, so the race format is familiar, but the neighborhood changes each time. Dogs on leashes are welcome on the course, and so are strollers and wheelchairs.

Packet pickup happens the evening before each event, at a location announced closer to race day. There is no race-morning option, so arriving without your bib means contacting the race director in advance. Post-race, each event runs a full expo with vendors, music, paletas, raffles, and a sponsored photo booth.

Common Questions About the Sunrise Series!

Will I finish last at the Sunrise Series!?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:04, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Sunrise Series! a good first 5K?

A field of 462 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Sunrise Series!?

The 5K winner ran 16:54 while the median finisher took 32:04. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
