About the Dia de los Muertos 5k Run / 1mi Walk
This race is part of a Día de los Muertos health expo hosted by a local school district, so the atmosphere is more neighborhood event than race. The course is untimed, and walkers and runners share the morning equally. The surroundings are a school district activities complex on the east side of El Paso.
Check-in opens early on race morning, before a brief warm-up and then the run and walk start together. The health expo runs through mid-morning alongside the course, so there is activity around the finish area well after the last participant comes through.
