The course runs through the streets of Morris Plains, starting and finishing at Simons Park. It is flat road running the whole way, with no real climbing to speak of. The race benefits the local school district, and the crowd on course tends to reflect that, with plenty of families out to cheer. A kids' fun run goes off before the main event, so the morning builds gradually.
