About the Strides for Education 5K

The course winds through the shaded grounds of a local state college campus, making for a sheltered run even in warm weather. The race is organized by the Fort Myers Track Club, and proceeds go toward a scholarship and mentoring program for local students, so there is a purpose behind the morning beyond the finish line.

Packet pickup runs over several evenings in the days leading up to the race, at a foundation office in Fort Myers. Race-morning pickup is available, but registration closes beforehand, so you need to be signed up before you arrive. There is no race-day registration on site.

Will I finish last at the Strides for Education 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 34:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:10, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Strides for Education 5K a good first 5K?

How competitive is the Strides for Education 5K?
