About the Fast & The Furriest
The course runs through and around Edison Mall, so you spend most of the race in familiar commercial surroundings rather than a park trail. Dogs are welcome on standard leashes, and the field tends to reflect that, with plenty of people running alongside their pets. Water is out on the course for both runners and dogs. The race benefits the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
Race-morning packet pickup runs before the start, so you can show up, grab your bib, and get your dog sorted without coming the day before. There is a post-race gathering with dog-friendly activities, and awards go to top finishers as well as best-dressed pets.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Fast & The Furriest has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
