About the Ghost of the Coast Fun Run
The course runs through Eastwood Golf Course, which makes for an unusual race setting: wide fairways, open sky, and a flat route that works for most paces. Costumes are a real part of the morning, with awards for the best individual, couple, family, and pet looks, so the field tends to look more like a haunted parade than a typical start line.
The finish area leans into the holiday, with snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, and Halloween candy for the kids, plus music and costume contests. The race benefits the Fort Myers Police Department's Police Athletic League, so the cause is local and specific.
