About the STEM 5K at Biddeford Middle School

The course is decorated for Halloween, so expect skeletons, cobwebs, and whatever the students dreamed up that year. Costumes are encouraged, and enough people show up in them that it stops feeling like a gimmick. The whole event is student-run, planned by middle schoolers as a real project, from designing the course to working the finish line.

There is a short fun-run alongside the main race aimed at younger kids, where they collect candy along a decorated route. It runs at the same time, so if you are bringing children, the morning has something for them too. Proceeds go toward field trips and learning activities at the school.
