About the St. Vincent's 1845 Foundation Nun Run

The course runs through Daffin Park, and the whole point of the morning is that most of the field shows up dressed as nuns. Black and white habits everywhere, which makes for a pretty entertaining spectacle on the park paths. The race benefits historic preservation work at St. Vincent's Convent, so there is a real local cause behind the costume chaos.

Packet pickup is held the evening before at St. Vincent's Academy Gym, on the corner of Lincoln and Harris Streets, with race-morning pickup available as well. There are free snacks and drinks at the finish, along with action photos and a photo backdrop on site.

Common Questions About the St. Vincent's 1845 Foundation Nun Run

Will I finish last at the St. Vincent's 1845 Foundation Nun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 35:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:30, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the St. Vincent's 1845 Foundation Nun Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (168 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the St. Vincent's 1845 Foundation Nun Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:25 while the median finisher took 35:57. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
