About the St. Paul School of Princeton Lion's Chase 5K & Fun Run

The course runs through Rosedale Park, so the surroundings are wooded and open rather than road-heavy. The race benefits a local school, and that shapes the feel of the morning: the field tends to include kids and parents alongside regular runners, and a warm-up session with the school mascot happens before the starting gun.

The evening before, there is a pasta dinner at the school cafeteria, hosted by a local restaurant, where you can also pick up your race packet. Race-morning registration opens well before the start, so late deciders can still get in. Raffles and awards follow after everyone has finished.

Common Questions About the St. Paul School of Princeton Lion's Chase 5K & Fun Run

Will I finish last at the St. Paul School of Princeton Lion's Chase 5K & Fun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:27, and the last recorded finisher came in around 50:02, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the St. Paul School of Princeton Lion's Chase 5K & Fun Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (102 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the St. Paul School of Princeton Lion's Chase 5K & Fun Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:00 while the median finisher took 31:27. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
