About the St. Malachi Church Run/Walk
This is Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day race, held around the holiday each year as a charity fundraiser through Malachi Ministries. The course starts and finishes on the Veterans Memorial Bridge, right next to the church. You can run the shorter distance, the longer one, or both back to back. Bagpipes and Irish dancers are part of the scene before the gun goes off.
The race begins and ends on the bridge, so parking nearby matters. There is on-street parking in the area, and a paid lot on Sycamore Street a short walk away. After you finish, the post-race party, called the Hooley, spreads across several spots in the Ohio City neighborhood, with an Irish band playing in Malachi Hall.
