About the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run
The Broad Street Run is a point-to-point course that runs the length of Philadelphia's longest straight road, heading south through a string of neighborhoods from the northern edge of the city to the southern end. The route is mostly flat, wide, and lined with crowds for much of the way, and the sheer length of the boulevard gives it a distinct character among big urban races.
Running through Students Run Philly Style means your entry fee goes toward free mentorship and running programming for Philadelphia middle and high school students. The organization pairs young runners with trained adult leaders and prepares them for long-distance events. Packet pickup and logistics follow the main race's setup, so the experience on race morning is the same course, the same start, the same finish.
