About the Spooktacular 5K and Fun Run
The course is USATF-certified and runs through the streets of Fair Lawn, so the footing is straightforward pavement the whole way. Costumes are encouraged, and on race day that is taken seriously enough that plenty of runners show up in full Halloween gear, from capes to witch hats.
After the finish, there is a post-race celebration with a live DJ and an age group prize ceremony. The event is put on by a school PTA, so the crowd around the finish area skews toward families and neighbors.
