About the Southern Lights Stroll 5K
The course runs through the Kentucky Horse Park at night, before the holiday light show opens to regular traffic. You start in front of the visitor center and finish inside the Holiday Village, so the scenery builds as you go. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and the pace ranges from racing to strolling, depending on who shows up alongside you.
Packet pickup happens at the visitor center the two evenings before the race, and again on race afternoon. Arriving early on race day is worth the effort, since traffic into the park gets heavy once the lights draw the evening crowd. Free parking is available at the visitor center lot.
